          William Burton's Biography

          English antiquarian, best known as the author of the Description of Leicester Shire (1622). He was the elder brother of Robert Burton, a scholar at Oxford University best known for the classic The Anatomy of Melancholy. William Burton died at Falde in Staffordshire on 6 April 1645.
