          Wilfried Pucher's Biography

          German stage and television actor and fifth-generation farmer, he was awarded the GDR Art Prize (The Art Prize of the German Democratic Republic, Kunstpreis der Deutschen Demokratischen Republik) in 1986.
          He made his stage debut in 1960 as an extra at the Greizer Theatre. From 1962 to 1964 he studied at the State Drama School in Berlin. After successfully completing his training, he took on his first engagement on the stages of the city of Gera. Pucher was later engaged at the Hans Otto Theater in Potsdam where he appeared until 1971.
          Then he was part of the cast of actors on East German television for two decades. Pucher gained great popularity as “No. 1 Officer Martin Schulze” in the GDR television series Zur See.
          After 1990 he appeared at theatres in Detmold, Lübeck, Hanover, Graz and Bern, toured Germany with various musical-literary programs and worked for television and as a lecturer at the Potsdam-Babelsberg Film School.
