Vincent Wing's Human Design Chart

4/6 Splenic Projector

**Vincent Wing: A Human Design Perspective**

Vincent Wing, born on September 4, 1619, in North Luffenham, England, was a prominent English astrologer and astronomer, as well as a skilled land surveyor. Wing’s journey into the realms of astrology and astronomy was marked by self-taught knowledge in Latin, Greek, and mathematics, showcasing his innate curiosity and intellectual prowess.

As a Projector in Human Design, Wing possessed a unique ability to guide others with his insights and wisdom. His Inner Authority, Splenic, indicated that he had a strong instinctual awareness that allowed him to make decisions based on his immediate feelings and intuition. This aligns with his role as an astrologer, where intuition plays a crucial part in interpreting celestial movements and their implications for human affairs.

In 1648, Wing gained recognition as a joint author, alongside William Leybourn, of *Urania Practica*, which laid the groundwork for his future works. The following year, he independently published *A Dreadful Prognostication*, which contained astrological predictions that reflected his deep understanding of cosmic influences. His major work, *Astronomia Britannica*, published in 1652, was a comprehensive system of astronomy based on Copernican principles and included numerous tables, showcasing his analytical skills and attention to detail.

Wing’s Human Design Profile of 4/6 illustrates his role as a networker and a role model. The 4th line signifies a natural ability to connect with others and build relationships, while the 6th line represents a journey of personal evolution and wisdom gained through life experiences. This combination likely contributed to his ability to engage in learned company and navigate the controversies of his time, as noted in his interactions with contemporaries such as John Flamsteed.

His Incarnation Cross, the Right Angle Cross of Penetration (51/57 | 54/53), emphasizes his capacity to delve deep into the mysteries of life and the cosmos. This theme of penetration is evident in his works, particularly in *Astronomia Instaurata* and *Examen Astronomiae Carolina*, where he sought to expose errors and refine astronomical understanding.

Wing’s dedication to his craft was evident in his publication of ephemerides over a span of twenty years (1652–1671), which were considered the most accurate of the time. His almanac, *Olympia Domata*, achieved remarkable sales and continued to be published by his descendants until 1805, further solidifying his legacy.

Despite his accomplishments, Wing faced health challenges and ultimately succumbed to consumption on September 20, 1668, at the age of 49. His friend and biographer, John Gadbury, praised his wit and intellect, while Wing himself was known for his astrological convictions. He even drew the scheme of his own nativity, which was published in Gadbury’s *Brief Relation*, and is said to have accurately forecasted his death—a testament to his deep connection with the cosmic forces he studied.

Vincent Wing’s life and work continue to inspire those interested in astrology and astronomy, and his Human Design offers a fascinating lens through which to understand his unique contributions to these fields.
