Vincent Decroly's Biography
Belgian politician and lawyer, he co-founded the local chapter of the Belgian Ecologist Party Ecolo in 1983 in Gerpinnes.
A Federal Member of Parliament between 1995 and 2003 (having been re-elected in 1999) for the constituency of Bruxelles-Hal-Vilvorde, he became known through his work in the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry into the Dutroux Affair.
On 26 October 2001, he left the Ecolo party after refusing to support the majority of Prime Minister Verhofstaft (known as the rainbow majority), a majority of which Ecolo was part.
He has published a book (Elementary Principles of Rainbow Propaganda, EPO, 2003) in which he summarizes his critique of the actions of the rainbow government and of the Belgian power system in general.
Having graduated in psychology in 1986, he completed a law degree in 2005 and now works as a lawyer at the Free Clinic.
In 2014, he participated in the founding of the VEGA Movement.
