          Veslemøy Kokkin's Biography

          Norwegian resistance fighter of the second world war as a member of the Pelle Group. In 2013 a memorial, designed by Kokkin’s niece Kirsten, was put up on Aker Brygge to honour the group’s contributions to the resistance movement.
          Together with Odd Tiller she was in 1944 editor of the illegal newspaper “Ungdom og handling” (Youth and action). She was arrested on 16 November 1944 and put in the Grini prison camp where she sat until 7 May 1945.
          After the war Kokkin became an architect. She was the sister of resistance fighter Sverre Kokkin, and the aunt of sculptress Kirsten Kokkin and actress Janne Kokkin.
          Kokkin died on 4 January 1976 aged 54.
