Trond Hegna's Biography
Norwegian journalist and politician of the Communist Party and the Labour Party. The communist paper and organisation Mot Dag was founded in 1921 and Hegna was involved from the beginning. He edited the paper from 1926 to 1928, remaining throughout its existence a central contributor.
When Mot Dag became a part of the Norwegian Communist Party in 1927, Hegna also for a period was the editor of Norges Kommunistblad (‘The Norwegian Communist Paper’). He left the Party in 1929. When Mot Dag was dissolved in 1936, Hegna again became a member of the Norwegian Labour Party, having been excluded in 1925. He was a member of the Norwegian parliament from 1950 to 1965.
Hegna died on 20 January 1992 in Oslo, Norway. He was 93.
