          Trista Zinck's Biography

American accidental death. Trista and her boyfriend were struck by a Chevrolet Blazer on 7 January 2003 as they were taking a walk down a street without sidewalks. An honors student and a participant in sports and cultural programs at Newburyport High School, she had just received her driver’s permit and its donor card, and she had told her mother she wanted to participate in the donor program. Her mother demurred, but when she learned that her daughter was fatally injured, she agreed to have Trista’s organs harvested. Trista planned to become a doctor and loved sports, especially soccer. She was an active participant in the Girl Scouts, took dancing, and loved to act. She is survived by her parents and a younger brother. Her boyfriend was not as seriously hurt and is expected to live; the driver of the car was a recent graduate of the high school; he was arrested after nearly hitting an on-coming car and flipping his SUV several hundred yards away, strewing empty beer cans about the crash scene.
