Tor Skjønsberg's Biography
Norwegian jurist and resistance fighter during WW II. In 1941 he was one of the initiators of “Grimelundsmøtene” (‘The Grimelund meetings’). These meetings are considered the beginning of organised resistance in Norway, with Skjønsberg as the de facto leader of the movement until he had to flee the country in November 1944, after which Jens Christian Hauge took over the leadership.
After the war Skjønsberg was Minister of Shipping in Gerhardsen’s interim government, from 25 July to 5 November 1945. Later he was a board member of several industrial companies.
Skjønsberg died on 8 September 1993 in Oslo, Norway. He was 90.
