Tor Frøysaker's Biography
Norwegian surgeon. He was one of the premier cardiovascular surgeons in the Nordic countries during the latter third part of the 20th century. On 6 November 1983 he headed the first heart transplantation in Scandinavia. He was also the first surgeon in Scandinavia to perform both a heart and a liver transplantation on the same patient, on 13 July 1986.
He taught at the University of Oslo from 1974 and became professor in 1985.
Frøysaker died on 5 March 1994 in Asker, Norway, aged 64.
