          Susan Saint James's Biography

          American actress, the winner of seven TV Emmy’s in seven years. Her TV series’ includes “Name of the Game,” 1968-71, “McMillan and Wife,” 1971-76 and “Kate and Allie,” 1984-87. During the last year of “McMillan,” making $75,000 an episode, she went through a prima donna period. She had matured as an actress by the time she worked in “Kate & Allie,” a top-ten rated show.
          A fashion model in New York and Paris, she went to Hollywood for the first time at age 20 where she signed a contract with Universal for $250 a week. She joined the flower-children of the period, doing acid and mescaline but later became a total vegetarian.
          Her first, short, marriage was to a script writer; her second marriage was to Tom Lucas with daughter Sunshine, born in 1972 and son Harmony, in 1975. She and her third husband, NBC Sports Head Dick Ebersol, 42, had a son, Edward Bright Ebersol, on 6/10/1990. With their two prior sons, Willie, three, and Charlie, seven, their total came to five kids. After more than 20 years of marriage, Susan filed for divorce on 3/12/2002, Litchfield, CT.
          By the late ’90s, St. James was certified as a master gardener, served on the board of the Special Olympics and ran her company, Seedling & Pip, which manufactures gift baskets for newborns.
