Stefan Wolpe was a prominent German-American composer, born on August 25, 1902, in Berlin, Germany. His creative journey began with the premiere of his first opera, *Zeus und Elida*, in 1928, followed by two more operas in 1929, *Schöne Geschichten* and *Anna Blume*.
