American newsmaker, the first of two daughters born to Jaycee Dugard, who was abducted from her home on 11 June 1991, age 11. The father is Phillip Garrido, Dugard’s abductor and rapist, who imprisoned her at his residence until she was released on 26 August 2009.
During her imprisonment, Dugard gave birth to “Starlit” (also reported as Starlet and Starlite) at age 14 and to “Angel” at age 17. She took care of her daughters using information learned from television, working to protect them from Garrido. He told Dugard that she and her daughters must address his wife Nancy as their mother, and thst she must teach her daughters that she was their older sister, and they upheld this fiction until their release.
In 2009, the girls birth certificates were filed with the Californian authorites listing Dugard and Garrido as the parents.
