          Sofia von Trapp's Biography

          American folk singer from a noted family, a member of The von Trapps (formerly The von Trapp Children), a musical group made up of herself and her siblings, Melanie, Amanda and August (formerly Justin) von Trapp. They are descendants of the Trapp Family Singers. They are the grandchildren of Werner von Trapp, who was portrayed as Kurt in The Sound of Music, and the great-grandchildren of Georg Ritter von Trapp and his first wife Agathe Whitehead, and the step-great-grandchildren of Maria von Trapp, Georg’s second wife.
          The von Trapp Children began their singing career after performing in the play The Sound of Music in 1997. Since then they toured in the United States and other countries. They frequently performed with the band Pink Martini and their collaboration album Dream a Little Dream was released in March 2014.
          The von Trapp Children appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show, The View, Jack Hanna’s Into the Wild, The Today Show, and 19 Kids and Counting. After 15 years of performing together, The von Trapps performed their final show in 2016.
          Sofia is the daughter of Stefan Georg von Trapp.
