          Slim Pickens's Biography

          American film and TV actor, rodeo clown and veteran of the rodeo circuit. A favorite Hollywood cowboy of the 1950s through the 1970s, he first appeared onscreen in 1950 and made his TV debut in 1954. Most famous for his role as Major T.J. “King” Kong in Stanley Kubrick’s “Dr. Strangelove”, who rides a falling nuclear bomb, rodeo style, at the film’s conclusion.
          Married once, with three children, he died from a brain tumor and pneumonia in Modesto, California on the night of 8 December 1983.
