          Shannon Miller's Biography

          Canadian hockey player, coach and policewoman, she coached her national women’s hockey team to a Silver medal in ice hockey at the 1998 Olympics. Her list of credentials include coaching the Minnesota-Duluth hockey team for four years, winning three consecutive NCAA championships in 2001, 2002, and 2003.
          Miller played in the first Canadian national championships in 1982. From 1982 to 1985, she was a referee for Canadian university hockey. In 1985, she was a member of the Canadian Hockey Feminine Council and was president of the Southern Alberta Women’s Hockey League. She helped to form the first ever girls minor hockey association in Calgary in 1989.
          Miller was a police officer in Calgary from 1988 to 1996.
