          Salvatore Ottolenghi's Biography

          Italian physician and criminologist, and the first scholar of the techniques of scientific criminal investigation, who in 1897 founded with Giuseppe Alongi the Rivista di Polizia Scientifica (“Journal of Police Science”). He was a pupil of Cesare Lombroso, creator of the discipline of scientific criminology. He died in Rome on 20 March 1934, aged 72.
