          Ruth Bryan Owen's Biography

          American Congresswoman from a noted family, the daughter of famous orator, William Jennings Bryan, who became a Congressman when she was five. She grew up with politics and publicity as daily fare.
          She married an artist in 1903 when she was 18, finished college and divorced in 1909. She then married Major R.A. Owen, 1910, and had four kids. From there, she became a popular lecturer and advocate of women in politics.
          Widowed in 1927, she became a member of Congress two years later, and was appointed Minister to Denmark in 1933. Owen’s penned a series of books; the first published in 1935.
          She met Captain Borge Rohdr of the Danish Royal Guard, resigned from foreign service and married him July 1936.
