          Rudolf Kaesbach's Biography

          German sculptor who exhibited a series of life-size marble figures at public exhibitions in Berlin, Dusseldorf and Malmö. In his later years he devoted himself increasingly to the representation of female nudes. Kaesbach’s sculptures were shown at the Great German Art Exhibitions of 1939, 1940, 1941 and 1943 at the House of German Art in Munich.
          Rudolf Kaesbach studied at the academies in Hanau, Paris and Brussels. From 1904 he worked as a sculptor in Berlin.
          He was one of four sons of Carl Josef Kaesbach (1839-1928) and Anna Petronella Kaesbach, nee Hülsmann (1844-1892). His younger brother Walter Kaesbach was an art historian.
          He died on 4 December 1955 in Berlin, aged 82.
