          Rosalind Russell's Biography

          American actress noted for her 23 crisp, sophisticated career-girl roles. Her films include “Picnic,” 1956 and “Auntie Mame,” 1958.
          The middle-born of seven children, she was considered a tomboy when young. Her happy childhood consisted of a good Catholic school education, values consistent with those of her lawyer father and teacher mother.. When she was 19, her father died and her mother was left to hold the family together. She married in 1941; one son. After the ’60s she suffered with severe rheumatoid arthritis.
          Russell died of breast cancer complicated by arthritis 11/28/1976, Beverly Hills, CA.
