French physician, specialising in oncology. A Doctor of Medicine (Lyon, 1927) and Associate Professor at Val-de-Grâce (1939), he became Professor of Hygiene (1950-1955), then of hygiene and health and social action (1955-1966), then of bacteriology (1966) and virology and immunology (1967). A member of the Academy of Medicine, he was elected correspondent for the Division of Biological Sciences on 22 February 1955. He died on 22 December 1991, aged 88.
