          Rob Reiner's Biography

          American screen actor, director, producer, writer and left-wing political activist. He is the son of Estelle Reiner (née Lebost; 1914–2008), an actress, and Carl Reiner (1922–2020), a renowned comedian, actor, writer, producer and director.
          As an actor, Reiner first came to national prominence as Michael Stivic, son-in-law of Archie and Edith Bunker (played by Carroll O’Connor and Jean Stapleton), on the TV series, All in the Family (1971-1978). That role earned him two Emmy Awards during the 1970s.
          As a director, Reiner was recognized by the Directors Guild of America (DGA) with nominations for Stand by Me, When Harry Met Sally…, and A Few Good Men. He also directed Misery, The Princess Bride and This Is Spinal Tap.
          Rob Reiner married actress/director Penny Marshall in 1971. Marshall’s daughter, actress Tracy Reiner, was from a previous marriage to Michael Henry. Reiner and Marshall divorced in 1981.
          Reiner married photographer Michele Singer in 1989. They have three children, Jake (born 1991), Nick (born 1993), and Romy (born 1998).
