French Professor of Applied Mechanics at the Faculty of Sciences of Paris and Professor at the Sorbonne. He co-wrote the book, Traité de mécanique rationelle (Paris, Gauthier-Villars et cie, 1919-1921) with Paul Appell and Alex Véronnet. He was a Correspondent for the mechanics section of the Academy of Sciences, and a Member of the Science Section of the Committee on Historical and Scientific Works. He died in Mar Vivo, La Seyne-sur-Mer, on 5 October 1968, aged 82.
