          Reinhard von Koenig-Fachsenfeld's Biography

          German engineer, inventor, and automobile and motorcycle racing driver, who held numerous patents. In 1924 he became the first German motorcycle road master in history on a Cotton in the 250 cc class.
          He designed a whole range of racing, record and test vehicles plus streamlined bodies for limousines which were placed on the chassis of renowned manufacturers. His greatest success was the streamlined Mercedes SSKL, which was manufactured by the vehicle bodybuilder Vetter in Cannstatt. With this vehicle Manfred von Brauchitsch won at the AVUS in Berlin in 1932.
          In 1982 Freiherr Reinhard von Koenig-Fachsenfeld founded the Schloss Fachsenfeld Foundation. This permanent exhibition at Schloss Fachsenfeld gives an insight into his fundamental work in the field of vehicle aerodynamics.
          Reinhard von Koenig-Fachsenfeld died on 9 March 1992 at age 92.
