          Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's Biography

Russian symphonic composer noted as one of the great world contributors of the beauty and grandeur of music. His success as a composer was a gradual ascent with his concerts tours beginning in 1887. A prolific composer, he is perhaps best known for the pieces he composed beginning in the late 1870s such as Swan Lake (1876), Eugene Onegin (1878) Capriccio Italien (1880), the 1812 Overture (1880), The Sleeping Beauty (1890) and The Nutcracker (1892).
Tchaikovsky was jovial and trusting, with many devoted friends. On 18 July 1877 NS he married. He was accused of a homosexual liaison with the nephew of an aristocrat. Some 20th century biographers wrote that he was secretly tried and sentenced and that he drank arsenic and died 6 November 1893 NS, St. Petersburg, Russia. Most other sources say that he contracted cholera and his death was a result of that.
