          Prince of Wied Friedrich's Biography

          German nobleman, eldest child of Wilhelm, Prince of Wied, and his wife, Princess Marie of the Netherlands. Friedrich was an elder brother of Wilhelm (Vilhelm Vidi), Prince of Albania.
          On 29 October 1898 in Stuttgart, he married Princess Pauline of Württemberg (1877–1965), only daughter of King Wilhelm II of Württemberg and his first wife, Princess Marie of Waldeck and Pyrmont, daughter of Georg Viktor, Prince of Waldeck and Pyrmont. The couple had two children.
          Friedrich inherited the title of Prince of Wied after the death of his father in 1907. After the German Revolution in 1919 all nobility titles were abolished. He became the titular Prince, or Furst, until his death on 18 June 1945 at the age of 72.
