As 10th child of a poor family, he was orphaned very young, tossed between farms and boarding schools. To earn a living and pay for his studies, he worked many jobs: cowherd, server, driver, beach attendant, lifeguard, teacher of waterskiing, photographer. He studied physiotherapy at the school Cujas Boris Dolto , then trained as osteopathic doctor, graduate of the European School of Osteopathy. He became a dietitian following the teaching of Professor Creff, famous nutritionist at St. Michael’s Hospital in Paris. With his bestseller “The great shape” in 1979, he established himself as the pioneer of a method (which was often copied) based on the harmony of mind and body, respect of the natural rhythms.
In 2004, he was charged with sexual assault but the case was dismissed. In 2006, another patient pressed charges, alleging inappropriate gestures and attempted penetration, during a consultation at his surgery in the comfortable 8th arrondissement of Paris. On 1 October 2013, he went on trial in Paris, accused by 16 women of sexual abuse and rape.
