          Philip Hellsten's Biography

American artist, a painter of portraits of celebrities with a style that is reminiscent of Warhol. An astrology buff, he was first intrigued at age eight by a picture of the zodiac with a list of celebrities born in June. His interest leans toward synastry. As a hobby, Philip writes music. In graphic design, in 2002 he created a cosmic clock/calendar called Sorrobborros, which is basically a “glass bead game” ala Herman Hesse. It show the cycles of the universe at least as far as the sun, moon, earth and the reason for the seasons and eclipses. It’s based on Stonehenge. He is trying to get a patent on it.
Philip calls himself an artist who dabbles in astrology and alchemy and who plans on bringing both to the masses in a popular fashion with the game Sorrobborros… either you’re playing it, or it’s playing you, like Andy Warhol.
He died on June 23, 2009 in Danville, California.
