Swiss journalist, currently a political reporter and Bundeshaus journalist at the watson.ch news website. In 2021 he was named “Journalist of the Year” in the Newcomer category by the industry magazine Schweizer Journalist.
In 2012, Marjanovi? achieved national fame when, together with Politnetz.ch Managing Director Thomas Bigliel, he was able to prove to the Council of States that there were several errors in the voting process. The research led to the small chamber of the Swiss Parliament becoming “the laughing stock of the nation” and the later introduction of an electronic voting system after public pressure. In an editorial, the Neue Zürcher Zeitung described Marjanovi?’s research as a “symbol for the entire legislature from 2011 to 2015”.
From 2015, Marjanovi? has published his work in Southeastern Switzerland in the tabloid Blick and SonntagsBlick. Since 2020 he has been working for the news portal watson.ch, where his texts are also published in the Aargauer Zeitung, St. Galler Tagblatt or in Switzerland at the weekend.
In September 2020, Marjanovi?’s work became the subject of a parliamentary inquiry in Bern’s Great Council after the Bern canton police issued a ban on him during a demonstration. The incident was also taken up by the organization Reporters Without Borders. Marjanovi? has repeatedly publicly criticized Die Weltwoche, a Swiss weekly magazine based in Zürich. In a fact check, he accused it of “history falsification”, and in 2022 he also submitted a press council complaint against a Weltwoche article, which was supported by over 300 people.
