          Paul Westphal's Biography

          American basketball player, head coach, and commentator. He played in the guard position in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for the Boston Celtics (1972–1975), Phoenix Suns (1975–1980), Seattle SuperSonics (1980–1981), New York Knicks (1981–1983) and again for the Phoenix Suns (1983–1984). He then worked from 1985 to 2016 as a coach, including four seasons as the head coach of the Phoenix Suns. In 2019, Westphal was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.
          Westphal was married to Cindy Westphal, and they had two children together. He was a Christian. Paul Westphal died in Scottsdale, Arizona, on 2 January 2021 after a bout with brain cancer at age 70.
