          Paul Dirac's Biography

English theoretical physicist. Dirac is widely regarded as one of the world’s greatest physicists, who was one of the founders of quantum mechanics and quantum electrodynamics. Dirac is most famous for his 1928 relativistic quantum theory of the electron and his prediction of the existence of antiparticles.
In 1933 he shared the Nobel Prize for Physics with the Austrian physicist Erwin Schrödinger.
His childhood was bleak, with a father who would now be deemed psychologically abusive, and an older brother who committed suicide while Dirac was in graduate school.
Dirac was known for his precise and taciturn nature and also noted for his personal modesty. He suffered agonies if forced into any kind of socialising or small talk.
He died 20 October 1984, Tallahassee, Florida.
