          Pam Fletcher's Biography

American athlete, the vivacious leader of the USA Women’s Team in the Olympic downhill 1988. Unfailingly cheerful and outgoing, she was a natural ambassador for the Alpine team. In 1986 she had won the World Cup downhill race and the U.S. National downhill and super-giant slalom in 1986 and 1987.
Fletcher had haunting memories of Mt. Allan where she fell during a race in December 1986, suffering a concussion and bruised kidneys and left with a feat of falling again.
Skiing since she was two was a normal part of childhood as her dad built and still runs the Nashoba Valley Ski Area outside of Boston, MA. Her folks were always supportive of her growing skills, encouraging her and looking at skiing as fun. In 1989 she faced a final competition in Vail, CO, as she aimed for a career in marketing or TV commentary. She is the Worldwide rep for the Stratton Mountain Ski Area.
A pretty blonde, 5′ 2″, 130 lbs, while off the slopes, Fletcher takes long runs and plays the guitar.
