          Otto Lagerfeld's Biography

          German businessman, who in 1919 founded the German company Lagerfeld & Co, which imported Carnation evaporated milk from the USA. In 1923 he introduced his own brand under the name Glücksklee (lucky clover).
          He was the son of a wine merchant from Hamburg, Tönnies Johann Otto Lagerfeld (1845–22 June 1931) and his wife Maria Lagerfeld (nee Wiegels).
          He was married to Elisabeth Bahlmann (1897–1978), daughter of the Catholic Centre Party local politician Karl Bahlmann, and they were the parents of fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld. Otto Lagerfeld and his family belonged to the Old Catholic Church. He died on 4 July 1967, aged 85, in Baden-Baden, West Germany.
