Ola Solum's Biography
Norwegian film director best known for directing “Orions Belte” (Orion’s Belt) (1985) and “Reisen til Julestjernen” (The Journey to the Christmas Star) (1976). In 1983, he directed the documentary “Kamera går! – Norsk filmproduksjon gjennom 75 år” (Camera Running – 75 Years of Norwegian Film Production).
In addition to the Amanda Award for Orions Belte, Solum thrice won the Norwegian cinema managers’ award, Sølvklumpen, in 1978, 1980, and 1985.
Solum died of cancer on 28 June 1996 in Oslo aged 56.
