Norbert Schramm's Biography
German competitive figure skater, a two-time European champion, a two-time World silver medalist, and a three-time German national champion.
Schramm began skating at age six. He was coached by Erich Zeller at the national center in Oberstdorf, and skated for the EC Oberstdorf club representing West Germany. Along with three national titles, Schramm won gold twice at the European Championships and silver twice at the World Championships. He also attracted media attention for his red costumes, his choreography and spontaneous creativity on ice, as well as for creating new spins and reinventing old forgotten spins. In 1984, he moved to the pros and became the professional world champion in Washington D.C., USA. Among other things, he performed at the ice revue Holiday on Ice and other exhibition events. After his first divorce in April 2006, Schramm took time off for almost two years. During this time, he traveled through South America and spent long periods in Quito, Ecuador and Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Norbert Schramm is the father of a daughter and currently lives in Sonthofen in the Allgäu region of Germany.
