Peruvian poet, novelist and literary critic who co-founded the Poético Neón movement in 1990. This group of young poets in their twenties recited poetry and made artistic performances in the streets of Lima during the perpetual state of emergency in Peru at the time.
Since the 1990s (the decade called “Generation X” or “The End of History”) the poetic work of Miguel Ildefonso, written in Lima and during his stays in the United States and on his travels through Latin America and Europe, has featured themes of war, borders, migration and monsters.
Among his many award he received the National Literature Prize 2017 in the poetry category from the Ministry of Culture.
Ildefonso has also published compilations of his literary articles, chronicles, essays, interviews and anthologies. At the end of 2019 he published Esquirlas, a convergence of poetry and prose.
