Michel Mourlon's Biography
Belgian natural scientist at the Université libre de Bruxelles, and a geologist, paleontologist and curator at the Museum of Natural Sciences of Belgium.
Michel Mourlon obtained the rank of inspector of mines. He retired in 1912, with various honours.
In 1875 he married Julie Borel, daughter of the Swiss consul. In 1870, Julie’s sister, Mathilde Borel, had married Auguste Beernaert, future Belgian Prime Minister and Nobel Prize winner. As Auguste Beernaert had no children, the sons of Michel Mourlon and Julie Borel were allowed to take the surname Mourlon Beernaert.
Michel Mourlon died in Watermaal-Boitsfort on 25 December 1915, aged 70.
