Max Cremer's Biography
German physiologist, whose contribution to the development of the glass electrode is important because, in 1906, he laid the foundations for the development of the pH-meter. Based on his work, Fritz Haber and Zygmunt Klemensiewicz developed the glass electrode in 1909, thus carrying out acid / base titrations and publishing their results on 28 January.
His children were also important natural scientists, daughter Erika Cremer Professor of Physical Chemistry at the University of Innsbruck, son Hubert Cremer Professor of Mathematics and Large Scale Systems at RWTH Aachen University and son Lothar Cremer Professor of Mathematics at the TH Aachen.
He died on 22 May 1935 in Munich, aged 70.
