Marit Halset's Biography
Norwegian actress of stage, screen, radio, and television who was associated with the National Theater from 1933 to 1948. She made her debut as the young girl Hazel in the Eugene O’Neill play “Sorgen kler Elektra” in the spring of 1933 where she played together with Johanne Dybwad, August Oddvar, and Ingolf Schanche. She ended her time at the National Theater by playing Leonora in “Den stundesløse” in 1948 before moving over to Det Nye Teater, where she stayed until 1967.
Halset also performed regularly in Radioteatret and Fjernsynteatret at the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation, in addition to having a number of film roles.
Halset died on 22 March 1986 age 73.
