          Manuel Lozada's Biography

          Mexican bandit and insurgent. He was an Indian or mestizo of the Cora tribe guerrilla Indian origin. Lined on the conservative side (1857), he operated during the War of Reform (1858-1861) in Jalisco, Sinaloa and Nayarit. Supporter of the Empire, fought against liberals demanding land reform and the creation of a federal state of Nayarit Mexico. After the fall of Maximilian (1867) he retired to Jalisco. La Mojonera defeated in the 28 January 1873, he was arrested and shot near Tepic on 19 July 1873.
