          Malcolm Fraser's Biography

Australian politician, who served as Prime Minister of Australia and the Leader of the Liberal Party from 1975 to 1983.
Fraser attended Oxford before taking over the management of the family property, Nareen, in Victoria. He entered the political arena in 1955 by winning the Federal seat of Wannon for the Liberal Party. His leadership has been controversial more than once, the first time when he resigned from his own cabinet, prompting a vote of no-confidence to the then party leader John Gorton.
He had several leadership challenges before finally achieving the top position of P.M. in 1975. That year, the Labor Party’s problems intensified, and on 11 November 1975, in an unprecedented action, Governor General John R. Kerr dismissed the P. M. and named then Minority Leader Fraser as his successor. He held the position until 1983 when he left politics to return to his estates.
According to a statement released by his office, Fraser “died peacefully in the early hours of the morning of 20 March 2015,” aged 84.
