          Madeleine Lebeau's Biography

          French actress, known for playing the role of “Yvonne”, Humphrey Bogart’s jilted mistress, in the 1942 American romantic drama film Casablanca.
          LeBeau married actor Marcel Dalio in France in 1939; it was his second marriage. They had met while performing a play together. In June 1940, LeBeau and the Jewish Dalio fled Paris ahead of the invading German Army and eventually reached the United States.
          On 22 June 1942, while she was filming her scenes in Casablanca, Dalio, who played Emil the croupier in the film, filed for divorce in Los Angeles on the grounds of desertion.
          She married Italian screenwriter Tullio Pinelli in 1988.
          Lebeau died on 1 May 2016 in Estepona, Spain, after breaking her thigh bone.
