          Madeleine Duncan Brown's Biography

American woman who claimed to be a longtime mistress of United States President Lyndon B. Johnson. In addition to claiming that a son was born out of that relationship, Brown also implicated Johnson in a conspiracy to assassinate President John F. Kennedy.
On 5 November 1982, Brown spoke at a news conference held at the Dallas Press Club, alleging that she had an extramarital relationship with Johnson for almost twenty years. She said that the affair began in 1948 after a party at the Adolphus Hotel in Dallas and lasted until 1967.
Brown was hospitalized after suffering a heart attack in February 1987 and, expecting to die, called her son Steven to her bedside in order to confess hiding the true identity of his father from him. Steven died in 1990, at age 39, from lymphatic cancer.
After the paternity claims, Brown made other allegations suggesting that there was a conspiracy to assassinate Kennedy, including the charge that Johnson had foreknowledge of a plot. In the years following Brown’s allegations, her story has received national attention and several conspiracy authors have cited her claims as evidence of a conspiracy in the case of the JFK assassination.
Brown died on 22 June 2002, aged 76, in Dallas, Texas.
