          Lillian Walker's Biography

          American social activist and nurse known as an African-American civil rights pioneer in the state of Washington. Along with her husband James Walker, a navy shipyard worker, she established the local National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) branch and took part in numerous protests to desegregate Kitsap County.
          Her husband died in 2000 at age 89. They had been married for 59 years and had two children. She died on 4 January 2012 at age 98 in Bremerton, Washington.
