          Lee Majors's Biography

American actor most known for his years of stardom playing Colonel Steve Austin in the sci-fi action television series The Six Million Dollar Man (1973-1978). Majors also portrayed the characters of Heath Barkley in the Western TV series The Big Valley (1965–1969) and Colt Seavers in TV action series The Fall Guy (1981–1986). He did many movies roles in such films as Steel (1979), Agency (1980) and The Last Chase (1981).
His parents, Carl and Alice Yeary, were both killed in separate accidents. (His father died in a work accident six months prior to his birth, and his mother was killed in a car accident when he was almost eighteen months old.) At the age of two, Majors was adopted by his uncle and aunt, Harvey and Mildred Yeary.
An early ambition to play pro-football was quashed when he broke his nose five times and received both knee and shoulder injuries.
In the mid 1960s to early 1970s, Majors was called a “blond Elvis Presley” because of his resemblance to Elvis during this period of his career.
Following The Fall Guy, after 11 years without a hit show, Majors tried to make the big time again in 1997 with his eighth TV series Steel Chariots.
Lee Majors has married four times and divorced three times. His first marriage was in Oklahoma where both his wife and son, Lee Jr., stayed while he ventured into Hollywood in pursuit of an acting career. In 1973, he married Farrah Fawcett; the marriage lasted eight years. His third marriage, to Playboy pin-up Karen Valez, ended in a bitter divorce in 1994; they had three children, a daughter and twin sons. Not only was Majors emotionally scarred from the bitter divorce, but financially as well; Karen took half of his six-million dollar fortune upon their divorce. Majors dealt with a bout of depression and alcoholism as a result of the closing of his third marriage. In 1997 he was seeing a 22-year old gal pal, Faith Noelle. They married in 2002.
In 2003, Majors had heart bypass surgery.
