King of France Charles VII's Biography
French royalty, the fifth son of Charles VI and Isabella of Bavaria, crowned king at 20, on 10/21/1422 and called Charles the Victorious.
He was aided by Joan of Arc to recover all French lands from England. The battle of the Siege of Orleans on 10/12/1428 was decisive and Joan led the French forces to triumph in May 1429. Weak in body and mind, suspicious and dominated by others, he betrayed Joan, turning her over to the British and she was burned at the stake on 6/08/1431 NS.
Charles VII had 11 children. He died 7/22/1461 OS, Mehun-sur-Yevre, believing his son had poisoned him, which history does not substantiate.
