          Karl Georg Pfleiderer's Biography

          German politician of the FDP/DVP and diplomat who held numerous posts in Europe and Asia.
          While studying law in Tübingen he met later political comrades Eberhard Wildermuth, Reinhold Maier, Konrad Wittwer and Wolfgang Haußmann.
          After completing his legal studies, clerkship and doctorate, he joined the Federal Foreign Office in 1922. On 1 October 1935 he joined the Nazi party.
          He joined the Federal Foreign Office and rose to the Legation Council there until 1943 and the Consul General in 1945. He was posted to headquarters in Berlin, Beijing, Moscow, Leningrad, Katowice and Stockholm.
          In the Federal Foreign Office, he met Adam von Trott zu Solz and joined the wider circle of conspirators of the 20 July 1944 plot against Adolf Hitler, without being one of the defining figures.
          In the mid 1950s Pfleiderer became Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Yugoslavia.
          Karl Georg Pfleiderer died on 8 October 1957 in Bonn at age 58.
