          Josh Souza's Biography

American contestant on the first season of the U.S. version of reality TV show Big Brother, a show set in “real time.” It was not scripted and was not intended for younger audiences as the language and situations had the spontaneity of real life.
Ten young adults, strangers to each other, were selected to live for three months in a closed environment in order to observe their interaction, entering their Big Brother house on 4 July 2000. After voting one of their housemates off every week, the last remaining contestant won $500,000 on 30 September 2000.
Josh, the runner-up, was then a 23-year-old student, 6′ 1″, 180 lbs. He made his home in Santa Maria, California where he was studying civil engineering and worked in aviation design.
Dedicated to anything athletic, Josh was equally adept at basketball, football, swimming and tennis. When not spending time on the courts, the field or in the pool, Josh was simply spending. He confessed to being a very serious shopper.
As well as events at the Selland Arena, Josh liked to dine at the World Sports Cafe. When his interests shift from athletic to entertainment, he was equally fond of love stories, fantasies and high-octane adventures. His favorite movies varied from the romance of “‘Pretty Woman” to the dramatic intensity of “Die Hard.” A fan of great British authors, Josh ranked Charles Dickens’ “Great Expectations” and J.R.R. Tolkien’s classic fantasy-adventures among the best books he had read.
Come vacation time, sunny California was not quite sunny enough for Josh. He liked to venture even further south to the sands of Cancun, Mexico.
The runner-up to the B.B. winner, Eddie McGee, Josh Souza won $100,000 and appeared in People’s magazine’s list of Sexiest Man Alive. He appeared on a cable show and was honored by his home-town of Fresno by a “Josh Souza Day” on 17 October 2000.
In 2010, he founded his own modeling agency, Ocean Models agency, stationed in Miami Beach, Florida.
