          Josefa Ugarte Barrientos y Casaux's Biography

          Spanish writer belonging to a rich family. She wrote religious weeklies like The Fe (1875-1876), the Catholic or Christian and Literature, also participating in society and charities as Charitable Dramatic Society of Friends of the Poor. The money raised by her work Memories of Andalusia, legends, traditions and history was donated to the nuns of Málaga, demonstrating her religious ideology and the paternalism of its kind. She married with Fernando de la Cerda, Count of kin and contaminates in the Cathedral of Malaga on 13 May 1887, an event of national impact, and that opened the door to Madrid’s high society, bringing it to relate to Juan Valera Victor Balaguer and Duchess of Medinaceli.
          She died on 14 March 1891.
