          Jose Isabel Robles's Biography

Mexican Military man that participated in Mexican Revolution. He joined the Constitutionalist ranks and operated in the border region between the Laguna Region, Durango and Zacatecas. As an independent chief participated in the failed attack on Torreon in mid-June 1913. In early 1914, Venustiano Carranza commanded his troops to march on Zacatecas, to reinforce Panfilo Natera Garcia and Domingo Arrieta Leon. Along with Francisco Villa and the other leaders of the Northern Division decided not to obey the orders of the First Chief; they decided instead that the whole division attacked Zacatecas, a decision that proved wise militarily, and renewing politically. He attended the Convention of Aguascalientes as a representative of the Northern Division; He signed by ignorance of Venustiano Carranza as First Chief and fought for the convention when factional fighting ensued. Indeed, he was Minister of War and Navy under President Eulalio Gutiérrez; in January 1915 he protected his flight from Mexico City, in which he broke with Villismo. Months later, he recognized Venustiano Carranza, who commissioned him to Oaxaca to fight the sovereignists armies. However, in 1916, Carranza again ignored. He was captured shortly after his rebellion, being alienated from their mental faculties. He was shot in the Mars Field of the City of Oaxaca, on 2 April 1917.
