          José Corbiniano Lins's Biography

          Brazilian sculptor who was part of the movement of Modern Art of Recife in the 1950s along with Abelardo da Hora, Reynaldo Fonseca, and Samico and Celina Lima Verde. His works were exhibited in several collective and individual shows in galleries, museums, cultural spaces and salons in Recife, Olinda, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Europe and Latin America.
          One of his best known works is the tile panel located in General Abreu e Lima Square in Recife, in which he represents three historical revolutions in the state of Pernambuco: 1817 (Pernambuco Revolution), 1824 (Confederation of Ecuador) and 1848 Revolution Praieira).
          He died of a heart attack on 10 March 2018, aged 94, in Recife. An art gallery was named in his honour in the neighborhood of Santo Amaro, Recife.
